Twin Buttes Elementary School

The Twin Buttes Elementary School is expected to serve 41 students in grades K-8 in the Twin Buttes community and the surrounding area with a staff of 35 full and part-time people. The community is comprised of Native American residents and school staff. Students that graduate from the eighth grade attend high school in Halliday, Golden Valley, or other off-reservation schools. Overall, the total school population will range from 80 - 100 students from the community.

The Twin Buttes Elementary School is a grant/public operated school and adheres to federal law, policies and guidelines. Twin Buttes is accredited by the state of North Dakota, and adheres to state standards and guidelines. The unique status of being a state and tribal institution enables the elected five-member School Board to access State Foundation Aid and other cooperative funding to support the educational initiatives and operation of the school.
