Ritterbrush-Ellig-Hulsing Office Building
This office building utilizes various techniques in order to be more energy efficient. First, the earth is bermed up against the exterior wall to act as insulation and minimize the temperature differential on the outside face of the wall. Continuous windows around the perimeter of the building reduce the need for task lighting, saving on energy consumption. The large overhang shades the windows from direct solar gain in the summer, reducing costs and energy use cooling the building.
